Comprehensive Obstetrics Program

Saint Mary’s has developed a comprehensive obstetrics program to help meet the needs of HealthFirst and Health Choice members just starting or expanding their families. The comprehensive program includes:

•  A risk assessment called the Early Pregnancy Health Questionnaire, evaluated by a registered nurse OB Case Manager. The OB Case Manager will partner with those members who have risk factors identified on their assessment, working with them regularly by telephone. The OB Case Manager is available, as well, to Moms without identified risk factors to address pregnancy related-questions and concerns.
•  Educational materials to answer your questions and help you have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
•  Free prenatal and CPR classes to meet your individual needs. The most commonly attended classes include:

•  Early Pregnancy Class
•  Childbirth Preparation Class
•  Breastfeeding Class
•  Pediatric CPR
•  Review Childbirth Class and Sibling Class (especially helpful for second time Moms)

•  Home phone call or visit by an RN after delivery to assure that you and baby are doing well.
•  Electric breast pump for those times when you must be away from your baby.
